Service Description

A full diagnostic assessment is designed for individuals who have not been previously assessed for specific learning differences, such as dyslexia, or for those seeking an updated report on their progress, perhaps during transitions to secondary school, sixth form, or college. The assessment produces a detailed report, including a diagnosis of dyslexia if applicable. The process typically takes around two and a half to three hours, with breaks included. The assessment consists of various short activities that evaluate verbal and visual abilities, cognitive processing (including working memory, phonological skills, and other areas). It may also include assessments of reading, writing, and mathematics, if appropriate. This comprehensive evaluation allows the assessor to identify your child’s profile of strengths and challenges and provide personalized recommendations for studying at school, college, university, or at home. Suggestions for Access Arrangements in examinations will also be included. The report will be suitable for accessing support at university through the Disabled Students Allowance (DSA)
